ZIMBABWE international defender Partson Jaure is available for Dynamos’ penultimate Castle Lager Premiership tie against Chicken Inn on Sunday after the postponement of a hearing into charges that he brought the game of football into disrepute during the Battle of Zimbabwe at Barbourfields.
There were fears that Jaure’s two match-ban for the incident at Barbourfields, where he was expelled for foul language following a clash with Highlanders’ forward, Njabulo Ncube, could be extended after he was summoned to appear before the PSL disciplinary committee.
Such an extension would have resulted in Jaure being unavailable for the league match against Chicken Inn at Barbourfields on Sunday and the final match against Black Mambas at Rufaro.
Jaure was alleged to have brought the game into disrepute when he charged at the referee after being sent off in that match.
DeMbare are lightweight in defence for the trip to Bulawayo after Ocean Mushure became the latest of their players to be suspended for picking up three yellow cards when he was cautioned in the match against Shabanie Mine on Wednesday.
Jaure and his club representatives last night appeared before the PSL disciplinary committee and successfully applied for a postponement of the hearing by a week.
Dynamos secretary-general, Webster Chikengezha, accompanied Jaure to the hearing and applied for the postponement saying they needed more time to prepare their defence.
“We asked for a postponement because we felt that they should also provide us with the material that they are using, in the prosecution, like the video clips of the incident that they claim Partson Jaure could have erred in his conduct,” said Chikengezha.
“We also raised the issue with the panel that the letter to the club said that the player had to be accompanied by the club’s vice-chairman and we advised them that the vice-chairman was not able to come for the hearing today (yesterday).
“After some discussions, it was agreed that we return next Wednesday, 20 November, for the hearing and we also hope that by then we would have been given the items that we requested which we need to use in our defence.
“As it stands, there hasn’t been any changes to the sanctions that Partson was due to serve, which was a two-match suspension for a red card, and he is available for the match against Chicken Inn.”
