Request for national hero status

zanu-pf Mashonaland East Province has written to the Politburo recommending the conferment of national hero status on Zimbabwe’s Defence Attaché to China, Brigadier-General Misheck Tanyanyiwa,who died in Beijing, China, last week.
Mashonaland East Minister of State Cde Simbaneuta Mudarikwa yesterday said the province has written to the Politburo requesting that Brig Gen Tanyanyiwa be declared a national hero.

“We have since written to the Politburo through the Ministry of Defence requesting that the late Brigadier General Tanyayiwa be accorded national heroes status for his contribution before and after independence,” Cde Mudarikwa said.

He said the province was now awaiting the decision of the Politburo which is expected to meet today to deliberate on the matter.
Cde Mudarikwa extended his condolences to the Tanyanyiwa family on behalf of the province.
