HARARE-BASED REV Darts Club were crowned the 2026 Champion of Champions after they got the better of nine other clubs at Cam and Motor Sports Club in Kadoma at the weekend.
The tournament, which is the 2026 darts season opener, was held on Saturday and Sunday; and Mashonaland West were the host province.
REV took the title from RBZ Bulawayo who won the tournament last year in Mutare.
Inspired by Tinodaishe Mabika, who won the best player of the tournament award, they got the better of Bull Hits of Manicaland, who came out as runners up.
Mabika was voted the best player together with RBZ Bulawayo’s Mgcini Nkala as Liberty Takwana of Raylton Darts Club of Mashonaland West won the most 180s.
Garikayi Simbanegavi of RBZ Bulawayo won the highest closure as his team, who were the defending champions, finished tied on position three along with Mashonaland West-based The Place Darts Club.
Wisewaters from Bulawayo, Gwanda Prisons and Sharks Bulawayo took positions five, six and seven respectively.
After an epic tournament filled with drama, excitement and disappointments, Mabika and Nkala came out on top above the rest after winning 20 legs apiece during the round-robin stages of team games.
Commenting on his achievements, Mabika said everything went according to plan, and it is through hard work that his game is improving.
“A very good start to this darts season; it’s not easy to get the best player of the tournament award, 20/24 possible singles (legs), 3×180s and a 112 highest checkout to win the trophy for the team, what a performance . . . this is all by God’s grace and ability in me,” said Mabika.
