The well attended event was held at Jock and Saddle with people turning out in numbers to witness the occasion.
Speaking to Chronicle entertainment, a member of Ballers League, Babalwa Sikhonjwa, said that the event marked an important milestone in the entertainment sector in the city.
“Ballers League is important to the entertainment sector in Bulawayo and the attendance of our events speaks for itself,” said Sikhonjwa.
He said they were not worried about holding their anniversary on the same day as popular South African musician Zahara’s concert as their events always managed to draw the crowds despite the presence of alternative attractions.
“We do not need to bring big stars to draw in the crowds, we want to show that Bulawayo’s entertainment sector is sustainable all by itself,” said Sikhonjwa.
He said it was their strategy to hold alternative events whenever there was an artiste in town as they believed that their events could hold their own.
“Actually what we do is quite deliberate and we have confidence in our events,” said Sikhonjwa.
He said that the success that they had achieved since the establishment of Ballers League was due to the fact that they knew how to treat their followers and customers.
Also present at the event was popular urban grooves artiste Otis Ngwabi.
