Black Rhinos 1-0 Shabanie
Milton Kurewa struck a priceless penalty early in the game to keep Black Rhinos’ survival chances alive as they edged Shabanie at Rimuka yesterday
Kurewa scored in the eighth minute of the game after Douglas Sibanda had brought down Stephen Matsangaise in the box.
The Black Rhinos midfielder was charging towards goal when he was tackled from behind.
Jostein Mathuthu-Mambo, the Black Rhinos coach said the victory will motivate his troops as they continue fighting against the chop.
“We’re positive that we’ll survive relegation at the end of the season. We’d lost form of late but this win will give us the psychological advantage in the matches ahead,” said Mathuthu-Mambo.
Chipembere will clash with Chapungu in the next match while Shabanie could be relegated if they do not find a winning formula.
Despite the defeat, their second on the run, Shabanie coach Jairos Tapera wore a brave face.
“I’m not throwing in the towel yet. We’ve to fight until the end and in football anything is possible. We were very unfortunate not to get something from this game, because we’d dominated. I think we missed a lot of scoring chances,” said Tapera
