BLACK Rhinos Under-17 team was yesterday handed a full kit by sportswear providers Ideal Sports.
The team — which competes in the Harare Province Junior league — received 36 branded soccer jerseys, 20 small cones, 20 large cones, 20 balls and some nets.
The donation was worth over US$3 000.
Ideal Sports managing director, Ideal Svovanepasi, said Rhinos was part of his life.
“We hope the donation will go a long way in nurturing talent in the young players,” Svovanepasi said.
“I will continue to work with junior teams, not in football alone, but in any other sporting disciplines, who may need support. The idea to support Black Rhinos came as I was at one point part of the team as a junior and they groomed me.
“I could have go on to play for the team but I pursued other avenues so it is a team which I grew knowing very well.”
Rhinos chairman Dennias Madhani said they were happy to have a partner to support their junior teams.
“This sponsorship package will help our team,” Madhani said.
