Black Rhinos midfielder Nkosi Mhlanga says they will try and capitalise on their recent form to derail Ngezi Platinum’s title charge while also enhancing their survival hopes when they clash in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at Baobab this afternoon.
The army side is currently bottom but go into the match at the back of successive wins in their last two assignments.
Rhinos have 20 points from 24 games after four wins, eight draws and 12 defeats while Ngezi Platinum are top with 48 points from 14 wins, six draws and four losses.
Mhlanga concedes that it will be a tough challenge.
“It’s not going to be a stroll in the park but we are ready to work extra hard and save the day for ourselves.
“We have momentum as we are coming from two consecutive wins which is a big boost for our confidence.
“Ngezi are on top of the log and it’s a reflection of how they have played the entire season but going into this match I feel we need the points more than them.
“I expect the match to be tough for both teams but we are hoping to cruise on and collect maximum points as it is the only thing we really want as a team at the moment to save ourselves.
“For us to survive relegation we only have one option which is to win games and avoid dropping points at all given opportunities.
“Our game-play has improved a lot and recently we are enjoying a fine run.
“We would want to carry it like that. As a team, we have to utilise our chances.
“Of late we have been creating chances so we have to make sure we convert and fancy ourselves collecting maximum points,” he said.
