RHUMBA groups, Maisha Music and Bana De As, say it’s important that Africans revert to traditional ways, including how they worship God and what they eat, for the continent’s people to live better and longer.
The two rhumba groups held Africa Day shows in Highfield and Mbare.
Maisha Music band founding manager, Adolf Kayembe, said:
“Let’s eat, live, sing, dance and worship our God in our traditional African culture, which is full of respect for all races, ages and religions.
“Maisha Music band was formed here and is based here at New Ambassador Hotel.
“We always remind Africans that their traditional foods, drinks and culture is the only reason why our ancestors used to live for around hundred years without any health challenges like BP, sugar or cancer.”
Bana De As was formed by Valor Losembo, Alain Makwenuna, Kalo, Allepege Mozindo and Pomp Matondo in Lusaka, Zambia, before the group relocated to Zimbabwe.
