‘Rhythm City’ viewership declines

Rhythm City has experienced a huge decline in its viewership since Skeem Saam was moved to the 18:30 slot on Sabc 1.
According to TVSA, the eTV drama, Rhythm City has lost about two million viewers since the premiere of Skeem Sam on 14 July.
The site reported that Rhythm City was averaging over 3,5 million viewers by the end of May but dropped to 1 636 000 viewers after the premiere of the Polokwane-based series.

Recent ratings show that in August, Scandal had 3 423 000 viewers, Skeem Saam had 3 115 000 and Rhythm City’s viewership climbed up to 2 422 000.

Final week of May:          3 514 000
11 – 17 August 2014:    2 422 000
Number of viewers less: 1 092 000
Percentage less: 31 percent – Sowetan
