It was a junior (Under-16) competition where the selection for the team for the Zone 6 Championships to be held here in December was done.  The gymnasts who were outstanding were Vanessa Nzombe, winning in both Level One and Two and Sibonye Lang, who won both sections in Level Six.

One of the competition’s organisers, Cheryl Muchatuta, said they used the competition for the selection of the Zone VI squad that will represent the country in December.
“This competition acts as a preliminary selection for the zone squad and those girls will now be moving into more intensive training. The next competition will be pre-nationals in June, which will select the competitors for national championships in all levels,” said Muchatuta.
