Caribbean360.com has reported that Rihanna’s mother, Monica Brathwaite, is trusting in her daughter’s judgment regarding the relationship, despite the fact that Brown physically assaulted her in 2009.
“I know her. I’m very proud of her,” Braithwaite recently told Rolling Stone magazine.
“She has her head on straight. I have to let her make her decisions, and I can only sit back and hope and pray for the best.”
Rihanna’s father Ronald Fenty, moreover, has been voicing his approval for a reconciliation between his daughter and Brown since well before the celebrity couple’s recent public appearances lent credibility to rumours of their rekindled romance.
As far back as last July, in an interview with Grazia magazine, Fenty said his daughter and Brown make a “perfect couple”.
The article said Fenty told the magazine that “Chris has matured a lot, I think everybody has to put the past behind them. And they seem to have done that. Being a couple is all up to her.”
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old megastar, who covers this month’s issue of Rolling Stone, told the publication why she decided to give things another try with 23-year-old Brown.
“I wanted him to know what it felt like to lose me. To feel the consequences of that.
“But I got real with myself, and I just couldn’t bury the way I felt,” Rihanna revealed in the interview.
“I decided it was more important for me to be happy, and I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that.”
She also maintains that she is not afraid if her decision to reconcile with Brown turns out to be a mistake. -Jamaica Observer.
