Richslug eyes legacy beyond luxury, celebrity connections

Zimbabwean musician and entrepreneur Richard Mille, popularly known as Richslug, wants to build a legacy that goes beyond luxury cars, celebrity connections and the flashy lifestyle that has made him a talking point on social media.

At just 23, the young Zimbabwean says he is already pursuing bigger ambitions, balancing music with business interests while building relationships with international entertainers, including J Hus, Fredo, Marnz Malone and Stefflon Don.

His acquisition of a Lamborghini Urus, his dream car, has further fuelled interest in his lifestyle, but Richslug insists that the real story lies in what he is building behind the scenes.

“I want to build a legacy that goes beyond what I own. I want my name to represent ambition, resilience, faith and the courage to pursue something bigger,” he said.

Operating from Dubai, Richslug is positioning himself at the intersection of music, entrepreneurship and international networking, hoping to transform his growing connections into opportunities that will strengthen his brand.

For him, the celebrity encounters are not merely about photographs or social media attention.

“Anyone can take a picture with someone famous, but the real value lies in the conversations you have afterwards, the relationships you maintain and the opportunities you create together,” he said.

Among the international artists he has been associated with are British rappers J Hus and Fredo, alongside Marnz Malone and singer Stefflon Don.

Richslug said some of his connections came through mutual contacts and artist management teams, while others began on social media. He revealed that Marnz Malone approached him on Instagram about getting into the studio, raising the prospect of future musical collaboration.

Dubai, he said, has exposed him to an international entertainment environment where business and creativity frequently intersect.

However, he wants his name to stand for more than access to famous people.

“I do not want to be known simply as someone who has met international artists. I want to build a brand that can operate comfortably in international spaces and create opportunities that extend beyond a single meeting or photograph,” he said.

Closer to home, Richslug’s relationship with rapper Holy Ten has also attracted attention. The two have known each other since 2022 and reconnected in South Africa ahead of the release of Risky Life 3. Richslug listened to the album before its official release and gave it a personal rating of 10 out of 10. He also hinted at bigger plans with Holy Ten for 2027, although he declined to disclose details.

While music remains central to his identity, business is another pillar of his ambitions.

Richslug co-founded Mille Prestige (Pty) Ltd with his uncle. The company operates in IT supply, logistics and general trade, reflecting his interest in building ventures beyond the entertainment industry.

He has also explored cryptocurrency investments, saying he is interested in diversifying his financial interests rather than depending on one source of income.

“I prefer to think of wealth as something you build rather than something you simply display,” he said.

The Lamborghini Urus, acquired at 22, represents one of his personal milestones. Richslug said the vehicle had been his dream car for years, although he did not expect to own it so early.

“The Lamborghini Urus has always been my dream car,” he said, adding that achieving the goal had motivated him to pursue even bigger targets.

Although his lifestyle attracts admiration, it has also drawn scepticism from social media users. Richslug says he does not feel compelled to explain every aspect of his life to critics.

He believes the public often sees only a fraction of what goes into building a personal brand, including the decisions, business activities and work that happen away from the cameras.

“I know who I am, I know the work I put in, and the people who are genuinely close to me understand me beyond what they see on social media,” he said.

Born and raised in Glen View, Harare, Richslug says his international ambitions have not weakened his connection to Zimbabwe. He credits his upbringing with teaching him that his starting point should not determine his destination.

He now hopes to invest back home and help create opportunities for young creatives who have talent but lack access to the right networks and resources. His immediate musical ambition is to release an EP that better defines his sound, potentially featuring prominent collaborators whose identities he is keeping under wraps. Over the next five years, he wants to expand his music catalogue, strengthen his international presence and grow his business interests. Richslug admits that his journey is far from complete, but his ambitions extend beyond personal wealth.

“I want people to look at my journey and understand that your starting point does not have to determine your destination,” he said.

For the young entrepreneur, the Lamborghini may be a visible symbol of progress, but the bigger prize is building businesses, creating opportunities and leaving a name that means something long after the spotlight fades.
