Mthabisi Tshuma in Ntunungwe
RURAL Infrastructure Development Authority (RIDA) director general Mr Christopher Shumba today toured a piped water scheme at Ntunungwe Village in Bulilima District, Matabeleland South Province.
The tour is part of a nationwide programme that director general Mr Shumba is undertaking.

As part of the agency’s mandates, RIDA is drilling boreholes, installing solar-powered systems and connecting piped water to homesteads around the country.
On Tuesday morning, director general Mr Shumba checked progress of the project where he was accompanied by Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Deputy Minister Phuti and senior Government officials.

The Ward 17 Ntunungwe community has followed suit of President Mnangagwa’s philosophy of “ilizwe lakhiwa ngabanikazi balo” where they are assisting RIDA to dig a trench over four kilometres.
Over 250 households are set to benefit from the piped water scheme which is a relief to water accessibility in the area.
