Call it a case of life imitating Fashion Week, at least for Rihanna. The sultry Barbadian songstress, who was dubbed the “It Girl” during Fashion Week in New York in September due to her effortless style and ubiquitous presence, so liked a lower Manhattan penthouse she visited that she decided to, well, stay.
According to the New York Daily News, Rihanna has signed a lease on a US$39 000-a-month condo on Lafayette Street in a part of Soho/Chinatown where upscale real estate has boomed in recent years.
Checking in at 4 660 square feet with 4 bedrooms, 3,5 bathrooms and a 156-square-foot walk-in closet that’s bigger than a lot of Big Apple studio apartments, RiRi’s new digs put her on top of New York and behind the protection of a 24-hour doorman and concierge service.
Security has become a concern for Rihanna, who filed for and was awarded a restraining order against a man who has stalked the singer at the Pacific Palisades home in California. — Forbes.com.
