A Harare man applied for a protection and peace order against his grandson, saying he wants him evicted from his house.

Patrick Disbani dragged his grandson, Shawn Tawengwa, to court for his riotous living.

Disbani told the court that Shawn comes home drunk and brings different girlfriends and friends to his house without permission.

“He comes home drunk in the dead of night. I used to open the door for him, but I have since stopped.

“Sometimes he brings his friends and drinks alcohol at my house.

“I gave him a room to stay, but he gave the room to his friends so that they can bring their girlfriends,” he said.

Disbani said he does not want Tawengwa at his house anymore.

“I cannot stay with him anymore. He is irresponsible and always drunk,” he added.

Shawn did not oppose the application.

“I am not opposing the application because he is the owner of the house.

“I am not in a position to oppose, but to beg him for mercy,” he said.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the peace order by consent.
