IN a chilling case that has left the Chinhoyi community reeling in horror, police have arrested a 32-year-old man suspected of brutally killing a 9-year-old boy in what villagers are calling a possible ritual killing.
Lloyd Gwenhere was cuffed on Saturday, June 8 after the mutilated body of little Munyaradzi Shumba was discovered at Chogi Farm. According to police, the boy’s stomach had been ripped open, his neck and left hand were slashed, and in a gruesome twist, his private parts were missing.
“The suspect was allegedly seen assaulting the victim for letting cattle stray onto his field,” police posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Villagers say the suspect, Gwenhere, accused Munyaradzi of allowing cattle to trample his crops before flying into a deadly rage.
Police confirmed the horrific outcome.
“The victim was found dead with a ripped stomach. The neck and left hand were cut, while the victim’s private parts were missing.”
