Robbers kill two pedestrians

Two pedestrians were fatally knocked down in Gweru Central Business District this morning after police were involved in a high-speed chase with fleeing suspected robbers using a Toyota Fortuner.

Two of the suspects were immediately arrested while the other two managed to flee from the scene following the accident which left the front part of the vehicle extensively damaged.

Police are still at the scene while the bodies of the two deceased have since been removed. Midlands Provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Makhoko said police were still at the scene gathering details.
