AN unknown number of robbers raided Mufuti Clinic in Chegutu on Thursday and assaulted three staff members before stealing money and phones.
The robbers attacked the clinic around 9 pm and were later arrested on Friday morning.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Mashonaland West spokesperson, Inspector Ian Kohwera confirmed the attack and said investigations are ongoing.
Provincial nursing officer Mr Farayi Marufu said the incident caused damage to infrastructure, especially doors that were destroyed using iron bars.
“They went on to attack two nurses and a nurse aide, demanding money. Two of the nurses sustained deep cuts on the forehead and received treatment today at Chegutu District Hospital.
“The robbers made off with $250 and some phones,” he said.
A police report was filed before the robbers’ arrest, and one of the nurses positively identified them.
