A TEENAGE hooker used as bait by a robbery syndicate is due in court charged with murder. Prisca Mudyanadzo frequented nightclubs in Bulawayo, targeting big-spending bar patrons before luring them to dark alleys for a quickie, according to court documents.But unbeknown to the men, a gang of robbers would be lying in wait.
Mudyanadzo was arrested following the murder of a man in July last year. She is charged together with two male accomplices. Hers is one of the high profile murder cases set for hearing during the first term of the Bulawayo High Court which begins on Monday next week when the 2014 legal year officially opens.
The term runs until March 27 and 21 cases, all of them murder, have been set down for hearing. Another high profile case lined up is a partially heard matter of black empowerment activist Sonny Kuzomunhu Chasi, who is facing charges of murder and rape.
Chasi, 72, of Richmond in Bulawayo, is charged with the murder of his wife, Dorcas Majola, 41, soon after his release from prison.
Chasi had served seven years for fraud and when he was released, he found his wife pregnant upon which he allegedly beat up her until she died.
Chasi is also facing six counts of raping his 12-year-old daughter in 2008. Another case is that of Mduduzi Timothy Mathema and Isaac Nyakurerwa who allegedly killed a security guard at Mutize Flea Market along Lobengula Street by hitting him with a plank on the head.
The two allegedly went on to steal vendors’ wares last year and their trial starts on February 11. Mncedisi Ndlovu, Nhlanhla Sibanda and Bhekimpilo Mthethwa from Gwanda will also appear on March 20, for allegedly killing three people in separate incidents.
