A suspected armed robber believed to have been part of a gang that robbed and raped a victim in Budiriro, Harare, was caught on camera at a local bank while withdrawing money using a stolen bank card.
The robber, who has not yet been identified, withdrew US$1 000 from an ATM using a the stolen card.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the gang that is wanted in connection with the Budiriro case.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “The ZRP is appealing for information which may assist to identify an armed robbery suspect captured on CCTV withdrawing US$1 000 using a stolen bank card following a robbery and rape case which occurred in Budiriro, Harare.
“Anyone with information is urged to report to the nearest police station.”
