Rocks, Eagles match abandoned

The domestic Pro50 Championship cricket match between Southern Rocks and Alliance Health Eagles has been called off due to wet outfield at the Masvingo Sports Club.

The two teams shared five points each from the abandoned match.

Hosts Rocks, who are now unbeaten in five games, took their points tally to 45.

Eagles now have 15 points from three games.

They had won one and lost once in their opening two games of the championship.

Their hopes to boost shore up their campaign were dashed after officials declared the ground unfit to host the match, following a series of assessments on the rain-soaked outfield.

The teams are expected to meet again at the same venue in Masvingo on Thursday.

Tuskers are hosting Mountaineers at Queens Sports Club in another Pro50 Championship today.
