A MAN, who raped his three daughters, including a ten-year-old on different occasions, has been jailed for SIXTY years.
The other kids were aged 16 and 12.
Owen (38), whose surname we will not reveal to protect the identity of his daughters, of Arda Endeavour, appeared before Chinhoyi Regional Magistrate, Amos Mbobo.
He was charged with three counts of rape.
Owen was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years in jail on each for the three counts.
However, ten years were suspended for five years.
Owen will serve an effective 50 years in jail.
Prosecuting, Jefferies Makoni, told the court that on the first count, Owen, went to the room of his 16-year-old daughter and asked her to accompany him to a mine.
The court heard that along the way, he asked her to have sexual intercourse with him.
When she refused, Owen assaulted her and raped her without protection.
He repeated the sexual attacks on a number of occasions.
Owen then threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the rape.
The matter came to light after the juvenile fled to her boyfriend, after being assaulted by her father.
She was taken to hospital by her boyfriend’s mother and was later admitted at Makonde Christian hospital.
That was when she revealed the incidents to her mother, who reported the case to the police.
On the second count, the court heard that and on a date unknown to the prosecutor, Owen also raped his 12-year- old daughter.
The court heard that he raped her on a number of occasions.
The court further heard that Owen threatened to kill her if she ever revealed the case to anyone.
On the third count, the court heard that Owen raped his 10-year-old daughter several times on different occasions.
