RoilBAA nomination is motivating us – LOL Thursdays crew

STREET comedy merchants LOL Thursdays are looking to grow their brand after their maiden Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA) nomination this year.

The brand, a partnership between Sunday News and Umahlekisa Entertainment founder and chief executive Ntando Van Moyo, Zwe Hlabangana and Mollet Ndebele has been on the streets of Bulawayo, making fun of various incidents.

The Outstanding TV Production/Programme nominees will have to outshine the Lubelihle Banda Show, Soul Mates and Amanxeba if they are to win their maiden award on Christmas Eve.

In an interview, Ntando Van Moyo said the gauntlet has been laid and they are up for the challenge.
“We’re elated beyond measure. Everyone is happy. The nomination is motivating us as a team and as individuals too. It has made us realise that we’re capable of reaching lofty heights,” Ntando Van Moyo said.

He said they are looking at growing the LOL Thursday brand and getting more nominations in the future.
“The numbers are growing and after having a season breather, we’ll be back again with Season 3 soon,” he said.

An acronym of Laugh Out Loud, LOL Thursdays has been a source of humour in the precinct, even trolling celebrities and making light of “serious” situations.
