ROME. — A home league game to Torino in the Italian Serie A tomorrow gives Roma a chance to get back on track after suffering three staggering defeats in the past two weeks.
The Rome Giallorossi lost 2-0 at powerhouse Bayern Munich in Champions League soccer action Wednesday, four days after another 2-0 defeat to Napoli in the Serie A weekend.
The bad run began in devastating fashion on October 21, when Bayern hammered Roma 7-1 at the Stadio Olimpico, but beside denting the squad’s morale, the defeats had minor effects on their prospects on the home and European fronts.
“We cancelled the image we had after the home game,” coach Rudi Garcia said as he recalled the 7-1 drubbing. “Even if we lost (in Munich), this time I am satisfied because we played the game I expected, with a good tactical and mental attitude.”
To brighten things up, CSKA Moscow won 2-1 at Manchester City, which left Roma in the second qualifying place in Group E with two games remaining. — AFP.
