Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Retired Colonel Claudius William Makova has died.
He passed away early this morning after a short illness.
He was being treated at Hippo Valley Hospital, from which he had recently been discharged.
The news of his passing was confirmed by his nephew, Mr Mac Makova, who said the family is still coming to terms with the sudden loss.
“Yes, it is true. My uncle, Retired Colonel Claudius Makova, has passed on,” he said.
“He had not been well and was admitted at Hippo Valley Hospital. He had just been discharged, but unfortunately, he passed away this morning.”
Rtd Col Makova served with distinction in the Zimbabwe National Army before retiring.
Details about his career and contributions are expected to be shared by family and colleagues in the coming days.
Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
Mourners are gathered at the family home in Chiredzi.
