Rudo Neshamba scores 11 goals as City Queens run riot

HARARE City Queens were the biggest winners in the Zimbabwe Women’s Football League at the weekend after they hammered Scorpions Queens 28-0 at Pfupajena in Chegutu.

Rosemary Mugadza’s troops were in a no-nonsense mood against the struggling Chegutu-based side that have let in huge margin scorelines at their home ground.

City Queens skipper and Mighty Warriors forward Rudo Neshamba scored 11 goals, while another Mighty Warriors utility player Danai Bhobho weighed in with six goals.

Harare City Queens player Rachel Mtseneki banged in five goals while Sithembiso Kazingizi grabbed a hat-trick and Moreblessing Mbwende and Nomaly Mandimandi grabbed a brace each.

Pacesetters Herentals consolidated their position at the top of the table when they dismissed Yadah 5-0 at Motor Action Sports Club.

The Students’ forward Maudy Mafuruse fired a hat-trick while Praynance Zvawanda and Alice Moyo scored a goal each.

Second-placed Black Rhinos Queens picked maximum points on the road when they beat Chipembere Queens 8-0 at Mkoba stadium.

The army side attackers Rutendo “Madzimai” Makore, Lydia Mapunhure and Concilia Madotsa scored a brace each while Daisy Kaitano got one. The other goal was an own goal by Chipembere Queens’ defender.

At Mkushi Sports Club, Correctional Queens got the better of Black Mambas Queens in a local derby for the service teams by winning 3-2.

Correctional Queens midfielder Marjoury Nyaumwe scored two goals while striker Samukelisiwe Zulu added the other goal.

Black Mambas Queen’s goals were provided by Samukheliso Moyo and Alert Khumalo.

At Chisamba ground in Mutare, Mutare City Rovers Queens beat Midlands State University Queens 1-0 with Natalie Mbavha scoring the all-important goal.
