Steven Charandura and Morag Flight retained their positions as the secretary-general and treasurer respectively.
Rugwete said the new executive will meet this coming Saturday to map the way forward.
“Basically there were people complaining at the meeting about the weaknesses of the outgoing executive and we are going to correct those weaknesses.
“We are going to have elections in the provinces before the end of February. We tasked those that were at the meeting to hold elections so that we work with the provincial leadership and not the styles directly,” said Rugwete.
ZKU secretary-general, Charandura, said the new executive will appoint two technical directors to cater for semi-contact and full contact unlike in the past where the national association had only one technical director.
“The executive will appoint the technical director and in this case we are going to have two technical directors – one for the semi-contact and the other for full contact,” said Charandura.
Charandura said for a long time the national association was only focusing on semi-contact hence the need to appoint a technical director for full contact. Constitutionally the association was catering for the semi-contact than full contact. Primarily, because when it was formed, there was no full contact. It was so silent about the full contact. These are some of the things we want to look at and see if we can bridge the gap and move forward,” said Charandura.
Charandura said they also had some discussions with the provinces who attended Saturday’s meeting.
