ALL darts lovers in Rusape are in for a treat tomorrow (Saturday) when Hide Out Inn hosts the inaugural Majoni Investment Singles Tournament.
Fireworks are expected in the tournament as over 20 players drawn from Makoni District have confirmed their participation by paying affiliations fees.
Tournament co-ordinator, Oliah Garura, said what makes this tournament special was that all players who represented Manicaland Province at various national tournaments confirmed participation.
“It is all system go tomorrow at Hide Out Inn as we host the first ever corporate sponsored tournament. We would like to thank Majoni Investments for warming up to our request to partner us in promoting the sport.
“This will help us to make the game professional. We call upon other companies to sponsor other tournaments or teams.
“So far 22 players have confirmed participation by paying the affiliation fees. It is a mixture of both veterans and upcoming players so we are expecting spills and thrills. Senior players will be eager to maintain their dominance and the youngsters will be out to be counted also.
“Veteran players who represented the province at national competitions such as Wonder Musuki, Action Chiroodza and Samson Garwe are also participating. The winner will walk away with $40, with second best getting $25, while third placed will receive $15 and fourth placed will get $10.
“Everyone is invited to witness and support their favourite players. It will be a family event,” said Garura.
