RWANDA has conveyed a message of condolence to Zimbabwe following the Kariba ferry tragedy that killed 94 people.

Rwandan Ambassador to Zimbabwe Mr James Musoni conveyed the message when he paid a courtesy call on Speaker of Parliament Advocate Jacob Mudenda at New Parliament Building in Mt Hampden on Tuesday.

Ambassador Musoni said the message was also one of friendship and continued good working relations between the two countries.

“I brought a message from the Speaker of the Parliament of Rwanda, a message of friendship, a message of good working relations, but the first one was a condolence message.

“You know the tragedy that happened in Kariba, and it led to the loss of so many innocent people.

“So the Government of Rwanda expressed deep condolences to the President, to the people of Zimbabwe, and the Speaker also extended that message to the counterpart, the Speaker of National Assembly of Zimbabwe,” he said.
