SA based Zim pastor up for rape, attempted rape

A 32-YEAR-OLD Zimbabwean pastor based in Thohoyandou in Limpopo province, South Africa, was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old congregant during an all-night prayer session.Police spokesperson for Thohoyandou, Major Mashudu Malelo, said the suspect allegedly raped the girl before he further attempted to rape her friend at a mountain in Nzhelele.

The incident occurred last week.
“Our preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect allegedly persuaded the two girls to join him to an all-night prayer session on the   understanding   that   he   would   pray   with   them   at   the mountain,” he said.

The two girls agreed and during the course of the service, the suspect grabbed the victim and allegedly raped her.
Soon after committing the offence, he tried to rape the other girl but she managed to flee and alerted her parents.

Maj   Malelo   said    the  suspect would   appear   in   court   soon   on charges   of   rape   and   attempted rape.
