regard with flights between Lagos and Abuja as the continent’s leading air carrier makes the most of the booming business between Nigeria and South Africa.
SAA, which is currently dominating the Lagos-Johannesburg route, is now deeply penetrating into the interior Nigeria where it boasts of its well serviced and dependable flights to conquer the Nigerian market.
Previously, the lucrative Abuja-Lagos route was widely believed to be the preserve of local flights such as Dana Air and Arik Air, among others
SAA regional general manager for Africa and Middle East, Aaron Munetsi, said while also plying the Abuja route, SAA had plans to grow its business on the Johannesburg-Lagos route following increase in demand for its “world class” services.
“We banished the thought that any route depends on the nationals of that particular country alone to make the flights profitable. We are a network carrier and that is what drives our business.
“SAA aspires to remain a leading airline in Africa and we achieve this objective by serving as many destinations with as many frequencies as possible. With demand high for our excellent product offering, we make sure that we are positioned to serve our customers,” Munetsi said.
He said the traffic between Nigeria and South Africa had been exceptional as the economic ties between the two countries grew.
This, he said, resulted in a growth in the numbers of visits between y both countries.
“This is a very heartening example of true and mutual growth in South-to-South co-operation,” he said.
To date, SAA operates to 26 destinations in 23 countries on the African continent. – CAJ News.
