The third instalment of the popular local sitcom, Sabhuku Vharazipi is out and now being sold. After keeping their multitude of fans waiting, Masvingo-based drama group, Ziya Cultural Group this week announced that Part 3 of the popular comedy series would be available from today, two years after the release of Part 2.
Ziya spokesperson, Wellington Chindara, who plays the character of Chairman in the sitcom, said the new DVD has arrived from China where it was produced and insisted that they had enough to satisfy their fans.
Chindara said the sitcom had been produced in China as part of the cast’s efforts to counter piracy locally.
“We took the production to China to stop piracy and as a result the DVDs can’t be copied because they’ve been encrypted. I urge our fans not to buy from street vendors because they may put a picture of the new production, but their discs will not play the new installment of our sitcom,” warned Chindara.
The new production, will for the first time, feature Sabhuku Vharazipi’s wife as well as Mbuya Mai John’s husband.
“This is an early Christmas present for our fans that have been waiting patiently for about two years for us to produce another installment of Sabhuku Vharazipi,” said Chindara.
Ziya Cultural Group is expected in Bulawayo next week to promote the new sitcom.
