ZIMBABWE senior men’s national rugby team are set to kick off their 2027 Rugby World Cup qualification quest with a quarter-final clash against Morocco in the opening round of the 2025 Rugby Africa Cup in Uganda this morning.
The Sables enter the tournament, and today’s encounter, as defending champions and favourites.
Zimbabwe last played in the World Cup in 1991 and only one qualification spot for the 2027 edition in Australia is available from the Africa Cup.
“The boys seem ready, they are in a good space,” said head coach Pieter Benade.
A win over the North Africans would set up a semi-final clash with the winner of the Kenya vs Uganda tie.
The match starts at 10am and is available for streaming on the RugbyPass website.
