Sables march to Africa Cup final

ZIMBABWE senior men’s national rugby team, the Sables put up a spirited second half performance that saw them edge rivals Kenya 29-23 to progress to the final of the 2025 Rugby Africa Cup.

The Sables, who were trailing 18-13 at half time in Nambole, Uganda, stuck to their guns in the second stanza, adding 16 points to the board to secure a hard fought win over the Simbas.

Sunday’s victory took the Sables one step closer to fulfilling their World Cup dream.

They will now face arch rivals Namibia in the final on Saturday where the winner will qualify for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.

The Welwitchias booked their spot in the final after a 21-7 win over last year’s runners up Algeria.
