A NUMBER of Zimbabwe’s foreign-based rugby players have confirmed their availability for the Sables’ tri-series rugby invitational in Windhoek, Namibia, next month. The tournament, which is expected to get underway on November 8, will feature Kenya and hosts Namibia.
Zimbabwe team manager, Losson Mtongwiza, yesterday said he was delighted that key players have confirmed their availability for the tourney.
These players include Kingsley Lang, who plays for Jersey in England, prop Nickolus Winwood and centre Sean Moen who both play for Blackheath in England, Martin Wolfenden (Cambrige), lock Michael Passaportis who plays in France and flank Andrew Ross who plays in Scotland.
Mtongwiza said Royal Mwale, Biselele Tshamala and Linience Tambwera, who ply their trade South Africa, are also expected to join camp.
The Sables technical team has called 43 players into camp.
“We are expecting all our players to arrive by 30 October. We are going to select 35 players for the final camp in Bulawayo and they will be there from October 31 to November 5,” Mtongwiza said.
Today the Sables will have their normal practice session at Old Hararians under their assistant coach Cyprian Mandenge.
