SADC Transfrontier Conservation Areas Conference begins in Harare

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCA) International Conference has commenced in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The conference, which runs from May 19 to 23, 2025, at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), celebrates 25 years of regional cooperation in biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and ecotourism.

Running under the theme “Transfrontier Conservation Areas-25 years of cooperation for regional integration and sustainable development,” the conference brings together Heads of State, traditional leaders, and experts from 16 SADC Member States.

The event aims to strengthen regional cooperation, promote sustainable development, and conserve biodiversity through Transfrontier Conservation Areas.

Over the past 25 years, SADC Member States have made significant progress in conserving biodiversity, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and fostering regional cooperation through TFCAs.
