FC Platinum and Warriors midfielder Ali Sadiki was last Friday summoned to the Harare Magistrates’ Civil Courts on a case in which his ex-wife is claiming US$1 117 monthly for the upkeep of their daughter and maintenance of her eight-month pregnancy. Sharon Chimwanza told the court that the footballer was not taking care of her and their daughter.

“We stayed together for seven-years and now he is neglecting and refusing to maintain his child who is now in grade zero despite having the ability to do so.

‘‘He has also neglected to cater for the welfare of his unborn child as I am eight-months pregnant.”
Responding to the claims Sadiki asked the court to give him time to go back to his club in Zvishavane to look for money to engage a lawyer.
“I have just arrived today from Zvishavane after she served me with the court papers.

“I need time to go back to my club and look for money to hire a lawyer to represent me in this case,” he said.
Magistrate Mr Tafadzwa Muvhami deferred the matter to tomorrow for continuation.
