A SAFARI company, Best of Africa Safari Private Limited, was last week fined for violating the Value Added Tax Act.
The company, represented by its director Ronald Bornwell Marikano, appeared before Harare magistrate Isheanesu Matova.
The complainant was the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority, represented by Sydney Chivame.
Best of Africa is a duly registered company in terms of the Companies and Other Business Entities Act.

The offence came to light on January 28, 2025, when Zimra carried out compliance checks and discovered that the company did not register Value Added Tax despite surpassing the threshold stipulated by the commissioner.
As a result of Best of Africa’s actions, Zimra was prejudiced of US$114 315,81.
The company was ordered to pay a fine of US$300 after pleading guilty to the offence.
