THE acrimonious divorce and separation of Rusape businessman, Patrick Sagandira and his wife, Doreen Kasu rages on, with the later appearing in court facing charges of fraudulently selling a plot belonging to the former.
Sagandira is being charged together with his second wife, Patience Mandiambira.
Sagandira and Kasu are locked in bitter fight over the sharing of movable and immovable property they jointly acquired during the course of their collapsed marriage.
Despite being divorced, they are still staying at the same house.
The plot in Nyazura was allegedly allocated to Kasu when she divorced Sagandira, but the businessman allegedly sold it to Laughwell Vumisayi.
Sangandira and Mandiambira appeared in court recently and pleaded not guilty.
They appeared before Rusape magistrate, Mr Tendai Kuhudzayi.
They told the court that the plot belonged to them since the permit is in their names and have right to dispose it.
Prosecutor, Mr Innocent Mwoyowaonda said Sagandira and Mandiambira sold the plot in 2020 and Kasu got wind of the transaction when the duo were in the process of changing its ownership.
“The complainant is the former wife of Sagandira. All the three reside at the same house. On May 16, 2020 and at Lee Farm, Nyazura, Sagandira and Mandiambira sold Plot 17 to Laughwell Vumisayi, purporting to be the rightful owners of that land.
“Affidavits statements which were written by both accused persons confirming the selling of the plot can be produced in court as evidence. Kasu got information that her farm was sold to Vumisayi, resulting in her reporting the matter to the police,” said Mr Mwoyowaonda.
Mr Kuhudzayi adjourned the matter to December 29 where a Makoni Rural District Council official is expected to testify.
Last year, Sagandira reported Kasu to the police, alleging that she stole his five underwear.
He also claimed that his eldest son, Onayi assaulted him and both cases were dismissed by the courts.
