Popular social media personality SaJakhobe (Takudzwa Gladman Ncube) is set to attend the upcoming Mapressa Glam and Fashion Show event in Midrand, South Africa, after a Plumtree businessman based in South Africa offered to fully sponsor his trip.
The gesture follows a social media post by SaJakhobe, a teacher by profession, promoting the event, which caught the attention of the businessman, identified as Dr Godolumanzi from Bambadzi. SaJakhobe, alongside his wife NaJakhobe, has gained popularity for using comedy to tackle societal issues, sharing humorous and relatable content centred on education, rural life, and empowerment.
Speaking to the Chronicle, SaJakhobe expressed gratitude for the support and said he was excited to be part of the event.
“I really appreciate this kind gesture. I’m ready to attend the Mapressa Glam event. I’m very happy and pray that God blesses that person abundantly,” he said.
Dr Godolumanzi said he was impressed by the positive energy and support shown by SaJakhobe towards the event that is organised by a local, DJ Mapressa, who hails from Tsholotsho.
The businessman applauded SaJakhobe for promoting fellow creatives and events without jealousy.
“I’m happy to see a young man congratulating and supporting others who are doing well instead of showing envy,” he added.
The sponsorship has attracted praise on social media, with many users commending the spirit of unity and support between local businesspeople and digital content creators.
The upcoming Mapressa Glam event set for June 2 is expected to draw guests and entertainment enthusiasts from different parts of the region. Entertainment will be provided by Professor, Fab G Mshanakagogo and Zinjaziyamluma, among others.
The event is an annual, inclusive fashion event launched in 2022 by South Africa-based Zimbabwean DJ and entrepreneur Promise “DJ Mapressa” Sibanda. It focuses on celebrating Zimbabwean and regional culture, talent, and style, with no restrictions on body type, age, or height, offering a platform for emerging models and designers
