Nkosana Mtungwazi (43), of Number 47 Cumberland Drive in Hillcrest pleaded guilty to three counts of theft before Bulawayo provincial magistrate Mrs Vivian Ndlovu.
Five years of his sentence were suspended on condition that he pays restitution of $11 985 to the three complainants in the case.
Presenting the State case, the prosecutor, Mr Jeremiah Mutsindikwa, told the court that sometime in October last year, Mtungwazi received three vehicles for the purpose of selling them on behalf of Mr Fundai Hove.
Mtungwazi then converted $5 485, which was part of the money realised from the sale of the motor vehicles.
On 18 January this year, he was given a Toyota Hilux to sell and after selling the vehicle he converted $5 000 to his own use.
On 27 January this year, he was again given another vehicle, which he sold but later converted $1 500 to his own use.
He was later trapped leading to his arrest.
