Salif Keita returns to Zimbabwe after 11 years for Ecobank Legends Night Africa

AFTER an 11-year absence from Zimbabwean stages, legendary Malian singer-songwriter Salif Keita is set to make a highly anticipated return as the headline act for the Ecobank Legends Night Africa, scheduled for September 26 in Harare.

Widely celebrated as the “Golden Voice of Africa”, Keita is one of the continent’s most influential musicians. His distinctive sound blends traditional West African music with jazz, funk, R&B and pop, earning him international acclaim and a career spanning more than four decades.

The announcement was made by Intotal Band, organisers and performers at the event, through their social media platforms.
“We are happy and proud to announce that the legendary Salif Keita will be performing live at the Ecobank Legends Night Africa on September 26 in Harare. We have prepared an amazing line-up for you,” the band said.

Keita last performed in Zimbabwe on May 3, 2015, during the Harare International Festival of the Arts (Hifa) at Harare Gardens, where he delivered a memorable performance that captivated local music lovers.

His return is expected to be one of the highlights of Zimbabwe’s entertainment calendar, offering fans another opportunity to experience the iconic performer live.

The celebrated Malian star will share the stage with some of Zimbabwe’s finest artists, including Sandra Ndebele, Albert Nyathi, Intotal Band and Iyasa, promising an evening that celebrates African musical excellence and cultural diversity.
