CAPS United midfielder Tendai Samanja says the Green Machine will not hand any favours to ZPC Kariba in their final match of the season on Sunday. He said the Premiership newboys must earn their stripes as champions. The Green Machine are also fighting for their cause, this coming weekend, as a loss could see FC Platinum, who host relegated FC Chiredzi at Mandava, and are favoured to win that match, could beat them into third place.
“The weekend’s match will not be an easy one,” said Samanja.
“It is going to be a very tough game but we have been doing well. We are not going to do ZPC any favours, they must expect the best football ever from CAPS.
“We will not be crowned the PSL winners this year but we have the power to stop ZPC Kariba from winning.
“Some of my teammates are saying they cannot wait for the weekend to come for them to take on ZPC Kariba.”
Mike Madzivanyika, who is yet to lose a match while leading the Green Machine in an interim capacity, will be in charge of the team. Madzivanyika was in charge of CAPS United when they beat Dynamos in the ZNA Charity Shield semi-finals at the National Sports Stadium this year.
“Our coach is not going to be available, he is out of the country and we would want him to hear the good news that we won and not that we lost,” said Samanja.
“The stand–in coach is equally good and the training is going on well.
