Blessing Sandeas goal for Vovovo FC in a 3-2 victory against Red Lions to last week Thursday over Midas City is a somewhat dividend for the club that invested in his efforts.
Not only did the strike seal the win, it was the first scored by a Zimbabwean in Swaziland this season after 34 matches and 104 league goals.
Among the goals is a solitary hat-trick, nine braces and 11 penalties converted after the completion of Match Day 5 with the league taking a Fifa Week break, giving way to Swaziland versus Mozambique internationalA friendly in Maputo.
For Zimbabwe the main interest from the past eight days of action would be that a Zimbabwean has gotten into the score sheet in Week 4, eight match days earlier than last season. Hloniphani Ndebele then turning out for Midas City was the first Zimbabwean player on target but in Week 12.
Ndebele was to be a regular scorer in the season with Tawanda Chikuku and Talent Maphosa also announcing their presence. Maphosa was the last Zimbabwean on target scoring an opener as Mbabane Swallows marched past city rivals Mbabane Highlanders 3-1 on closing day.
And on Thursday night at Somhlolo National Stadium, it was Sandeas turn to score as Vovovo FC recorded a third consecutive win and this time around the victim was Caleb Ngwenyaas former team, Midas City.
It was a brace from former Mbabane Highlanders striker Mohammed Sabela and a long strike from Sande that earned them a 3-2 win.
The now Caleb Ngwenya-led charges, Vovovo, had managed to beat capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders 2-1, Green Mamba 1-0 and they completed their hat-trick of wins, beating Midas City by 3-2 in a tightly contested encounter.
Coming to the game, it was an entertaining encounter with the visitors opening the scorersa chart just 15 minutes into the game, through Mangaliso Magagula.
He benefited from a goal-mouth scramble to beat Vovovo goalkeeper Machawe Dlamini across the goalposts.
However, two minutes later, ex-Highlanders forward Mohammed Sabela cancelled out Magagulaas 1-0 lead to make it 1-1 through a high flying header.
Sabela doubled matters in the 26 minutes to give his side a lead.
He headed home from inside the box from Mlamuli Msibias cross.
The hostsa joy was short-lived as City midfielder Melusi Dlaminias ground shot from close range and made it 2-2 in the 29th minute.
The scoreline by the stroke of half-time was 2-all draw.
After resumption, Vovovo had an upper hand and eventually they added to their tally through Blessing Sande, who blasted a volley from the edge of the box in the 67 minutes.
But the joy was short-lived as Vovovo went on to lose to Saul Chaminukaas Matsapha United 1-0 on Saturday, the day that saw four Zimbabweans feature in four hours of soccer action at Mavuso Sports Centre.
Sande played out in the first match to which the Chaminuka-led the technical bench.
In the second match in which Red Lions fell 0-1 to Young Buffaloes, Maphosa and Knowledge Jim featured to a losing cause.
