SANDRINGHAM High School headmaster said they has evolved into a brand of academic excellence, with a strong reputation for self-sustenance through income-generating projects.
The school’s mandate is to identify, develop, and perfect the potentials of its students, preparing them for future success.
At the recently hosted a momentous Speech and Prize Giving Day, the head Tinashe Manhera said it was milestone in the institution’s history.
The event highlighted the school’s remarkable achievements, including its highest-ever enrolment of 1007 students, a teaching complement of 41, and outstanding academic results.
The school recorded its highest ever O level results of 98.9% and highest ever qualitative A level results of 100%.
Past 3 years O level: 90.1%, 96.6% 98.9 A Level: 100%, 100%, 100% differentiated by quality.
“We have deliberately decided to display our array of accolades that we received as recognition of excellence. Facts are very stubborn. MCZ Sandringham has developed from an ordinary school of academic excellence into a brand. The learner in its entirety is at the centre of our niche.
“We are the face and pillar of self-sustenance through income generating projects that resonate so intriguingly with the Heritage based trajectory,” he said.
Guest of honour, Terry Sangwe said emphasised that education can break the chains of poverty, empower communities, and create leaders and innovators.
“It is every parent’s dream to secure their children’s future by ensuring they enrol at institutions of exceptional, sport and art performance. This is what Sandringham High School is doing by giving our children exceptional education. Indeed, such schools like Sandringham do not just promise a child success but guarantees success in this competitive world where quality is sought.
“We noted from the Head’s speech that the school was a cut above the rest in terms of quality passes. This is quite plausible. The administration, teaching staff and non-teaching staff deserve a pat on the back. The school needs the entire support of all stake holders, that is parents, various ministries, community and the corporate world.
“I would like to urge all of you to be boys and girls of good character. Be respectful, be kind to each other, be tolerant of people with different views and be generous. Stay away from the use of drugs and narcotics.
“Those parents and guardians here present and are in some form of law enforcement assist in plugging entry points of drugs. Deal ruthlessly with those that are in drug traffic. Deal with the issue of public drinking which is now a problem,” he said.
The SDC chairperson, Makiwe Mahenzi said it was every parent’s duty to support their children.
“As SDC we would like to encourage parents to pay their fees and would like to thank all that are doing so in time and have Sandringham School at heart. We also would like to thank parents who have contributed towards this day in cash and kind. We know we might not all see things the same way all the time but (Kana tichirwa tinorwira mukaka wedu) as Sandringham parents,” he said.
