Hosted by the Junior Chamber International (JCI Capital) in partnership with Agribank, the event attracted six schools. Girls High School came second whilst Roosevelt came a distant third after a tie-breaker with Queen Elizabeth.

The Green Quiz  tournament was a great experience and a resounding success and we are looking forward to more school awareness visits from JCI Capital’s Green My Zimbabwe Project team and its partners.

A total of six schools and almost 200 students graced the event.

JCI Capital Green My Zimbabwe Project Director Mr Fungayi Sox expressed satisfaction over the growth of the tournament as well as the increased awareness of students on environment and climate related issues.

“Prior to the Green Quiz tournament, JCI had embarked on several build-up activities where it assessed projects being initiated by the various environment club students in Harare,” said Mr Sox.

He commended Girls High School for maintaining cleanliness whilst Queen Elizabeth had the most promising Herbal Garden.

At the tournament, students also took part in impromptu public speaking and poem sessions with topics focusing on the environment and climate related issues.
