SINGER-DANCER Sandra Ndebele is set to collaborate with multi Nama award-winner Jah Prayzah in one of her tracks on her forthcoming album due to be released in April.Ndebele will feature the Tsviriyo hitmaker on a track that tackles stigma attached to inter-cultural marriages.
“I have decided to rope in Jah Prayzah because he is talented and an easy-going person who is not a problem working with. I realised that people still have that stigma of not wanting to marry people from other cultures – so the song which will feature Jah Prayzah serves to encourage people to love whoever they want despite their cultural background,” Ndebele said.
She said besides Jah Prayzah being the highlight, the album would be made up of other collaborations.
“I am currently in the studio working on the album. It will be a 12-track album made up of a number of collaborations that would be released soon. As of now, I can only tell you that it features Jah Prayzah and Iyasa,” Ndebele said.
Jah Prayzah dubbed as the man-of-the-moment, has worked with a number of artistes in the country and has produced successful collaborations.
He has worked with dendera frontman Sulumani Chimbetu on the popular hit Sean Timba, and Amara Brown, and gospel musician Fungisai Mashavave among other artistes in the country.
Ndebele said she would be leaving for South Africa to put final touches on her album.
“The exact number of collaborations will be finalised when I go to South Africa. I will be having a full list of the songs and the title of the album when I come back from South Africa,” said Ndebele.
Her roots can be traced from Iyasa where she started off as a dancer before venturing into the music industry where she has made a name for herself.
Last year, she released a gospel album titled No Matter What. The album was mainly made up of tracks from the Seventh Day Adventist Church hymn book.
