Sanitary pad saves woman from ‘rapist’ brother

A BULAWAYO woman, 32, will live to thank a sanitary pad she was wearing as it saved her from being raped by her brother.
Her 31-year-old brother fondled her breasts as she was going home from the shops at night in Gwabalanda before inserting his hand into her panties.

He only freed her when he discovered that she was wearing a sanitary pad.  He told her that she was lucky as he had wanted to rape her.

He appeared before provincial magistrate Willard Maphios Moyo facing an indecent assault charge and was not asked to plead.

He was remanded out of custody to March 10.

Prosecuting, Mufaro Mageza told the court that on Tuesday last week, at around 8PM, the woman was walking alone on her way home from Maplanka Shops in Gwabalanda.

“Her brother appeared from behind and pushed her. The woman who didn’t fall screamed for help. He then pinned her against a durawall and started fondling her breasts,” said Mageza.

He said the man inserted his hand inside his sister’s panties and withdrew it when he discovered that she was wearing a sanitary pad.

The court heard that the man told his sister that she was very lucky as he wanted to rape her.

The matter was reported to the police leading to his arrest.
