SAP celebrates 15th anniversary

SAP is the acronym for Systems, Applications, Products, which is a system that provides users with real-time business applications that contain a user interface and is considered extremely flexible.
The event was a celebration of the firm’s 15th anniversary, which saw it awarding trophies of appreciation to its top clientele in the country.
“SAP is committing to ensure that the e-government initiative adopted and driven by the Zimbabwean Government is going to be a success and to make it a showcase for the rest of Africa. “Most Zimbabwean customers are ‘reference-able’, that is, we refer potential customers of the SAP product in Africa to come to Zimbabwe and see successful implementations of the product in the country,” said Mr Mangadze. He added that the Zimbabwean market is quite mature and has customers that have implemented SAP wall-to-wall and are reaping the benefits of good implementations of the SAP product.
Incidentally, the Government constitutes the largest segment of SAP users in the country.
The extensive use of SAP systems by the Government has made Third Century Systems (Pvt) Ltd a leader in SAP implementation in the public sector across Africa.
Companies that received awards at the ceremony include: Air Zimbabwe, Dairibord Zimbabwe Holdings, Grain Marketing Board, Government of Zimbabwe, Kurima Gold, Marange Resources and Mbada Diamonds.
Other recipients included PowerTel Communications (Pvt) Ltd, Sakunda Energy, Sideline Farming (Pvt) Ltd, TelOne, Tetrad Financial Holdings, Thyrodo, Trendz Depot, Zesa Enterprises, Zesa Industry Pension Fund, Zesa Holdings, Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company, Zimbabwe Revenue Authority, Zimbabwe Power Company, and Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation.
