SA’s Keke coming to Zim

the country on the invitation of AFM Mabelreign assembly pastor Reverend Onismo Sasa and will play at the Open Heavens Crusade running from August 29 to September 4, 2011.
Reverend Sasa said they had brought in the high-profile musician to inspire youths.

“We have invited a high-profile musician to create a conducive atmosphere for the liberation of our young people. With relevant music and appropriate word to the people we expect the best.
“The word of God tells us that music is a powerful tool in provoking the presence of God. Through this event we trust that Keke’s music will challenge other artistes to do the best for God.
“You are invited to come and share the goodness of God. The Psalmist say ‘O taste and see that the Lord is good” Psalms 34 vs 8. This is your chance to taste the goodness of God,'” he said.

Keke was born in Pimville, Soweto, 27 years ago and he wanted to join the military.
However, music took over that desire when he was invited by Oupa Montshiwagae in 1994 to join a music group called “Zoë Gospel Singers” as a backing vocalist and as a result competed at the “Shell Road to Fame” in Sun City, in 1997, as a soloist.

In 1998, he found a place in the kwaito industry with the group KOM-KOM. He then got the opportunity to go on tour with Benjamin Dube 1999 before joining “Joyous Celebration5” in 2000-2001, as one of the choirs lead singers. Doing the lead vocals on the song “Jo Ke Mohlolo-Hlolo” also gave him the opportunity to work with the male group Redeemed.
Keke has also toured with jazz legends such as Bheki Mseleku and Winston “Ngozi” Mankunku, this led to a call from the Queen of Swaziland to run and produce a “live” recording of Redemption Choir

2001-2004, giving him the chance to produce more projects in the neighbouring country.
An opportunity to perform in the hit show – UMOJA – was the break that he needed to expand his talent in the theatre before he decided to express what God had placed on his heart with his debut album “Restoration”.

The success of the album paved the way for his second album “Revival” which was a ‘Live’ DVD recording at the “Vaal University of Techonology” in February this year.
On Revival, Keke’s latest offering, he says:
“We all have the opportunity to have what we want, and what we need to revive our mind set.

“Emotions must be dealt with because we have our freedom and Africa has more than what it needs.
“We should come out of the beggar mentality. This is not the time to look back because if we do, we will not see tomorrow.”
All in all, Keke has recorded three ‘Live’ DVD albums with the latest, called “Holy of Holies”.

He is also a presenter on etv, One Gospel and runs his own ministry as Prophet. The Open Heavens crusade is a brain child of AFM Mabelreign Shiloh Word Miracle Centre and has been running for three years now with the sole purpose of winning souls for Jesus.
Guest speakers on this year’s crusade will include Evangelist Chiweshe, Reverend Chiyangwa and Reverend Sasa. The good news to all Keke fans is that the crusade is absolutely free. The crusade

is running under the theme “Unlimted Breakthrough”
“Open Heavens Crusade aims at reaching to our community with the gospel message that is able to bring healing to the total person.
“It is our burden to share the good news of Christ with all age groups. To let everyone know that God is not a respecter of persons the bible says whosoever believe has a right to eternal life.

“We believe Open Heavens will bring spiritual, psychological, social and physical healing to our nation,” said Reverend Sasa.
